Catching Up!

I wish that I had a good reason for not posting something in so many months. I started out with a good excuse, and the excuses have just turned to lazyness.
I figure in order to get caught up I will just have to do several posts. To start off, we added a new member to our little family. his name is Felix. On my last day of work as a probation tracker, he was at the house we were doing community service at, and was going to be killed if I didn't take him, so naturally, I did! =) Him and Findus get along alright.

Past Due

I am way past due for a blog, but life has been insane lately. With the new semester starting and all that entails, moving to Rexburg, and actually making a couple friends, Girls camp planning and working, I've just been out of the blogging groove. I have, however, discovered digital scrapbooking, and absolutely love it. I've gotten quite a bit of mine and Dans "dating" pictures done.
Last night we went to hang out with some friends and we made homemade ice cream and had a flour fight. I had never heard of that before, but it was so much fun!! We got an awesome picture of all of us afterwards, but my camera is at work with Dan, so I will have to post it later. But its definitely to good to miss looking at.

Torturing the Cat!

One of Dans favorite things to do is torture our cat, and the pictures describe so much better than words ever could!

Sewing

I am taking this awful sewing class that makes me want to throw my sewing machine at a wall, but I have learned lots! My first project was a cars pillow case, which I ended up making two. One for an awesome sister missionary I know! and one for my little niece who I got hooked on the movie cars.
Our second project was a pair of pajama pants, which I also ended up making two of! I made pink ones for me, and blue/green ones for Dan. He was so excited and as soon as I got them finished, we put them on and took a picture!
My third project was a collared shirt, which I can hardly stand to look at, cause it was such a stressful project, and I am still trying to recover from it!
Our final project is a skirt, which I am almost finished with and its super cute, pink with brown polka dots, and I'm so grateful to my teacher for having our final project be so easy, after such a strenuous project.

Reeses Peanut Butter Cake/New Church calling

Dan and I have a new obsession called ^ the above title! Ha Ha! It's chocolate cake made a little differently then the box directions. then you dump half the batter in the pan and then put peanut butter cups all over, then add the rest of the cake batter. IT'S AMAZING!!! I'm addicted.

Anyone interested, here is the recipe:

1 box cake mix
3 eggs
1 cup sour cream
3 Tb water
mix, half batter in greased pan, PB cups, other half, bake 40-45 minutes at 350*

Also just wanted to let you know I have been called as the Young Womens Camp director, and I am ecstatic about it!

6 Things

I was reading a friends blog and she put up 6 interesting facts about herself and so I thought I would do something like that too. Just for fun!

1: I have no favorite movie because what movie I am into changes all the time, although the movie I have watched most times, by choice, is probably "RAD" I can pretty much quote that entire movie word-for-word.

2: I love office supplies! Pens, markers, paper, stickers, tape, stapler, labels, etc. I have a large sharpie collectoin, a giant scrapbooking collection... ~sigh~ I love them! My dream growing up was to be a secretary, and I think a lot of the reason why is so I could have a desk full of office supplies.

3: Me and Dan already have 8 names (4 boy and 4 girl) picked out for our future children, as well as their middle names. We are not baby hungry, but, we are excited about having cute, but solid names for our children. We get excited when we talk about their names. We also like to talk about family traditions we hope to implement into our own family.
I am a fan of names that cannot be shortened. I am adament about naming my kids what they will be called. For example; Adam cannot be shortened, good name! Matthew can shortened so if I like the name Matt, I will name hime Matt, not Matthew.

4: I love Pizza, but I LOVE breadsticks. Whenever we get/have gotten pizza, I always insist on having bread sticks, and make most of my meal out of them, then eat a piece or two of pizza.

5: I want to go to beauty school. I have for several years, but have felt I should finish the degree I started. I also have always thought it would be cool to get a dual major. But I'm not sure what goes with Social Work! Ha ha!

6: I love buying people presents. I walk through the store and see things and wish I had money to just blow to buy people things whenever I see something I know they would love. Especially my nieces. It breaks my heart when surprises dont go well, or as planned, cause my satisfaction comes from seeing other people love what they get, and I try to tailor gifts to the person, rather than say, hey that looks good, I'll get that.

My Christmas Present

For Christmas Dan got me a little kitten who we named Findus, after a german story about a cat named Findus and an old man named Peterson. One day I had my ipod on shuffle and a chapter of the story came on, and the narrator was telling the story and Dan was mocking the "SH" sounds of German. Then the narrator said "findus" in a really funny way and so for about 2 weeks Dan would mock the narrator by saying Findus. I told Dan we were going to name one of our kids Findus just so he could always say that. Then he got me the kitten for Christmas and asked me what I wanted to name him. We decided Findus would be a better name for our cat then a child. So it was decided! Dan doesn't say Findus like the narrator anymore, instead, between the two of us we have come up with about every nickname in the book, and somehow we keep coming up with more. I don't think he knows what his name is anymore!

He LOVES to climb in the warm dryer after we take clothes out.

He loves to sleep on car rides.

He loves to play, especially in boxes.

He loves to watch from my shoulder.

He loves to bite things.

Getting Started

Everyone in the family and friend circle have blogs, so I decided I would start one for Dan and me. So we're joining the cool group now!
